NEXI-002 is an autologous, non-genetically engineered cell therapy composed of CD8+ T cells that are primed to recognize multiple antigens associated with multiple myeloma, including WT1, CD138, CS1, and NY-ESO-1. Developed using NexImmune’s proprietary Artificial Immune Modulation (AIM) nanotechnology platform, the therapy utilizes artificial antigen-presenting nanoparticles to activate and expand patient-derived T cells ex vivo. The resulting product contains key memory phenotypes—such as stem-like memory and central memory T cells—designed for potent anti-tumor activity and durable immune responses. NEXI-002 is being investigated in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who have failed at least three prior lines of therapy[2][4][6][7]. The mechanism of action involves direct recognition and killing of myeloma cells expressing the targeted antigens by the infused antigen-specific CD8+ T cell populations.
