Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xalud Therapeutics' Next Generation IL-10 Program is an IND-enabling gene therapy initiative focused on developing advanced non-viral DNA plasmid vectors to treat chronic inflammatory conditions. Building on the platform used for their lead candidate XT-150, this program utilizes a non-viral DNA plasmid to express IL-10v, a proprietary modified variant of human interleukin-10 (IL-10). IL-10 acts as a master regulator of the immune response, and the therapy is designed to restore cytokine homeostasis. The next-generation approaches include enhanced vectors with chemical linkers for targeted tissue delivery and promoters that sense the inflammatory environment, allowing for regulated expression. The non-viral nature of the platform is intended to permit repeat dosing without the development of neutralizing antibodies.
