The formulation leverages the company's proprietary Xbio technology, which is engineered to disrupt and eliminate bacterial biofilms. Biofilms are protective matrices produced by bacteria such as *Cutibacterium acnes* (formerly *Propionibacterium acnes*) that contribute to antibiotic resistance and persistent inflammation in acne lesions. By breaking down the extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) matrix, the cream exposes the underlying bacteria, making them more susceptible to clearance. The product has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its impact on lesion counts, investigator global assessment (IGA) scores, and patient quality of life.
