Overview

NFIA siRNA refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to silence the expression of the Nuclear Factor I A (NFIA) gene through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway. NFIA is a transcription factor belonging to the NFI family, which is essential for the development of the central nervous system, particularly in regulating the switch from neurogenesis to gliogenesis. In a pathological context, NFIA is frequently dysregulated in various malignancies, including glioblastoma multiforme, gastric cancer, and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, where it often acts as an oncogene promoting cell survival, proliferation, and migration. The use of NFIA siRNA allows for the sequence-specific degradation of NFIA mRNA, leading to a significant reduction in NFIA protein levels. This approach is widely utilized in functional genomics research to elucidate the role of NFIA in development and disease, and it represents a potential therapeutic strategy for cancers driven by NFIA overexpression.
