Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NG-1001 is an experimental oncology therapeutic consisting of the cytotoxic small molecule SN-38 encapsulated within the proprietary NanoGhost delivery system. Developed by NanoGhost, the platform utilizes engineered mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived cytoplasmic membranes, which retain the natural tumor-homing capabilities of their parent cells. SN-38 is a potent topoisomerase I inhibitor and the active metabolite of the chemotherapy drug irinotecan. By targeting the delivery of SN-38 directly to solid tumors, NG-1001 is designed to enhance therapeutic efficacy and reduce the systemic side effects typically associated with camptothecin-based chemotherapies. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various solid tumors.
