Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NG13-2 is a topical scalp balm being developed by VasoDynamics for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA). The product utilizes the company's proprietary VasoProtect technology, which involves the localized application of a vasoconstrictor to the scalp prior to chemotherapy administration. By inducing transient, localized vasoconstriction, NG13-2 reduces blood flow to the hair follicles, thereby limiting the delivery and subsequent toxicity of systemic cytotoxic chemotherapy agents to the follicular cells. This pharmacological approach is designed to provide a more convenient and comfortable alternative to physical scalp cooling methods, such as cold caps. As of 2025, NG13-2 is in Phase 1 clinical development.
