NHMX

NHMX is a multitargeted combination therapy regimen designed for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Developed and studied by researchers at The Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University, the regimen's name is an acronym for its constituent drugs: a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (N: celecoxib or loxoprofen), hydroxychloroquine (H), methotrexate (M), and an additional immunosuppressant (X: prednisone or cyclosporine). By combining these small molecules, the therapy simultaneously modulates several key pathways involved in SLE pathogenesis, including the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2, dihydrofolate reductase, calcineurin, and Toll-like receptors 7 and 9, as well as the activation of the glucocorticoid receptor. This approach aims to improve efficacy and tolerability compared to standard monotherapies or dual therapies.
