Overview

Niaosuanqing (尿酸清颗粒) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation used primarily for the management of hyperuricemia and gout. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients, commonly including plant extracts such as Smilax glabra (土茯苓), Plantago asiatica (车前草), and other herbs traditionally believed to promote uric acid excretion and reduce inflammation. The mechanism of action is thought to involve inhibition of xanthine oxidase activity, reduction in uric acid synthesis, promotion of renal uric acid excretion, and anti-inflammatory effects. Niaosuanqing is widely used in China as an adjunct or alternative therapy for patients with elevated serum uric acid levels or gouty arthritis.
