Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Niargim is an Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation developed by AVN Ayurveda Formulations Pvt. Ltd. for the prophylaxis and management of migraine, tension headaches, and headaches associated with depression. The formulation integrates traditional Ayurvedic components, including Varanadi Kashayam and Drakshadi Kashayam, with specific herbs such as Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) and Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata). Its therapeutic effect is attributed to a multi-pronged mechanism: the suppression of prostaglandin synthesis (via Varanadi Kashayam and Rasna) to provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic relief, and the modulation of 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptors (via Drakshadi Kashayam and Brahmi) to regulate local vasodilation and offer neuroprotective benefits. It is administered orally as 850 mg tablets and is marketed as a safe alternative to conventional migraine therapies.
