NIBRG-14 virosomal H5N1 vaccine is an investigational prepandemic **influenza A H5N1 vaccine** produced as a virosomal subunit preparation from the reverse-genetics NIBRG-14 seed virus. NIBRG-14 carries the hemagglutinin and neuraminidase antigens of A/Vietnam/1194/2004 H5N1 on an A/Puerto Rico/8/34 backbone. In a Phase 1 study in healthy adults, two intramuscular doses were evaluated either without adjuvant or with Matrix M, a saponin-based ISCOM adjuvant; Matrix M increased homologous and cross-reactive H5N1 antibody responses and enabled antigen dose sparing.
