Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nicachet is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) developed by Magle AB (formerly Magle Chemoswed) for the treatment of nicotine dependence. It is an oromucosal powder-filled pouch containing 4 mg of nicotine, designed to be placed in the mouth for transmucosal absorption. The drug acts as an agonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), mimicking the effects of nicotine from tobacco to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and cravings, thereby supporting smoking cessation or reduction. Nicachet has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to compare its pharmacokinetic profile and subjective effects to existing NRT products like nicotine gum and nasal spray.
