Overview
Nickel sulfate is an inorganic compound and metal salt composed of nickel and sulfuric acid. It is primarily used in allergenic testing, particularly for diagnosing contact allergies to metals. Nickel sulfate acts as a sensitizer, provoking immune responses in susceptible individuals during patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis. It has no direct therapeutic mechanism of action but serves as a diagnostic agent in clinical allergy practice. Nickel sulfate is also used industrially, especially in electroplating and battery manufacturing[1][2][5]. There are no known pharmaceutical developers; it is produced as a chemical reagent.
