Drug intelligence / Profile preview
niclosamide + tribromsalan is a small molecule combination therapy under development by Collaborations Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial infections, specifically *Mycobacterium abscessus*, as well as *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*. Discovered using a semantic knowledge graph and machine learning approach, the combination exhibits a unique transcriptional response in mycobacteria, characterized by the induction of respiratory pathway stress and the dysregulation of fatty acid metabolism. In vitro studies have demonstrated inhibitory activity against *M. abscessus*, which is traditionally difficult to treat due to its high level of drug resistance. The development is currently in the preclinical stage.
