Nicoflex

Nicoflex is a topical combination ointment developed by Medimpex for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. It contains three active ingredients: capsaicin, ethyl nicotinate, and ethylene glycol salicylate. Capsaicin acts as a counter-irritant by depleting substance P from sensory neurons; ethyl nicotinate serves as a vasodilator to improve local blood flow and absorption; and ethylene glycol salicylate provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. The product is indicated for the relief of pain associated with bruises, sprains, arthrosis, myalgia, neuralgia, and sciatica, and is frequently used by athletes for muscle warm-up. Originally authorized in Hungary in 1978, the product is currently manufactured by Egis Pharmaceuticals following its acquisition of Medimpex's pharmaceutical operations.
