Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination chemotherapy regimen that includes nilotinib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting BCR-ABL), vincristine (a vinca alkaloid), prednisone (a corticosteroid), and doxorubicin (an anthracycline). The combination has been studied in clinical trials for various cancers, particularly Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL). Nilotinib inhibits BCR-ABL kinase and may enhance the efficacy of cytotoxic agents by inhibiting MRP-1/P-gp efflux activity. This combination aims to provide synergistic effects on tumor cell growth, apoptosis, and potentially angiogenesis and immunomodulation.
