Overview

Niludipine is a 1,4-dihydropyridine derivative and a calcium channel blocker. It functions by inhibiting the transport of calcium ions through voltage-sensitive calcium channels, including L-type Ca2+ channels, and also interacts with mitochondrial Ca2+ antagonist receptors. This mechanism leads to vasodilation, making it effective in the treatment of angina pectoris and exhibiting hypotensive effects. Additionally, Niludipine has been shown to potentiate the activity of certain antitumor agents, suggesting its potential as an adjunct in cancer chemotherapy by reversing drug resistance.
