Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nimacimab + Wegovy is an investigational combination of nimacimab, a peripherally restricted negative allosteric modulating monoclonal antibody targeting cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1), and Wegovy (semaglutide), a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. Developed by Skye Bioscience, the combination is being evaluated for the treatment of obesity and overweight. Nimacimab is designed to avoid central nervous system penetration, thereby minimizing the neuropsychiatric side effects historically associated with small-molecule CB1 antagonists. Wegovy contributes to appetite reduction and glycemic control. The combination is being evaluated in the Phase 2a CBeyond clinical trial (NCT06577090), where it has demonstrated clinically meaningful weight loss and improved body composition compared to semaglutide alone.
