nimesulide + paracetamol (Abigail Healthcare)

Homonim is an approved fixed-dose combination analgesic and antipyretic tablet marketed by Abigail Care Pharmaceutical (under its Homogreen division) in India. Each tablet contains nimesulide (100 mg) and paracetamol (325 mg). Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a selective competitive inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thereby blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a widely used analgesic and antipyretic that acts primarily on the central nervous system to block pain impulse generation and reduce fever. Together, this combination provides rapid and synergistic relief from acute pain, fever, and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, headache, toothache, menstrual pain, muscle pain, and postoperative pain.
