Nimuges

Nimuges is a branded generic pharmaceutical formulation containing nimesulide, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. It is marketed by SBM Enterprises (also known as SBM Pharmaceuticals), an Indian PCD (Propaganda Cum Distribution) pharma franchise company. Nimesulide works primarily by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. Due to its relative selectivity for COX-2 over COX-1, it is often associated with a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs. Nimuges is typically indicated for the treatment of acute pain, the symptomatic treatment of painful osteoarthritis, and primary dysmenorrhea.
