Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ningigo-P-20 is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing alprazolam (0.25 mg) and propranolol (20 mg), developed and marketed by Curis Lifecare. It is approved and used in India for the treatment of anxiety disorders. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABA-A) receptor, enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission to calm brain activity. Propranolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist that blocks the action of epinephrine and norepinephrine on beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptors, thereby reducing physical symptoms of anxiety such as increased heart rate, palpitations, and elevated blood pressure.
