Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ningmitai Capsule (NMT) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Guiyang Xintian Pharmaceutical for the treatment of urogenital conditions, including chronic prostatitis, chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS), and urinary tract infections. Approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2002, the capsule is composed of several botanical ingredients, including *Polygonum capitatum*, *Imperata cylindrica*, and *Forsythia suspensa*. Its mechanism of action involves anti-inflammatory effects, specifically reducing CCL2 secretion through the inhibition of the MAPK pathway and downregulating the NF-kappaB and STAT3 signaling pathways. Clinical evaluations, including Phase 4 trials, have demonstrated its efficacy both as a monotherapy and in combination with alpha-blockers like tamsulosin for improving symptoms of CP/CPPS.
