Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Nipah Virus cVLP Vaccine is a prophylactic vaccine candidate developed by AdaptVac in collaboration with the VICI-Disease EU Horizon Europe consortium. The vaccine utilizes AdaptVac's proprietary capsid virus-like particle (cVLP) technology, which involves displaying Nipah virus antigens on a virus-like particle scaffold to mimic the structure of a virus and induce a robust, protective immune response. This approach is designed to prevent Nipah virus infection, a severe zoonotic disease characterized by high fatality rates and potential for outbreaks. As of 2024, the program is in the preclinical stage, entering GMP manufacturing with a Phase 1/2a clinical trial planned to commence in 2027.
