Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nipah virus mRNA vaccine is an engineered mRNA-based vaccine being developed by Vernagen, in collaboration with Duke-NUS Medical School, for the prevention of Nipah virus infection. The vaccine utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery technology to deliver messenger RNA encoding Nipah virus antigens, specifically the soluble Nipah virus glycoprotein (soluble NiV-G) fused with a human collagen type I alpha 1 (COL1A1) signal peptide, full-length Nipah virus glycoprotein (full-length NiV-G), and/or full-length Nipah virus fusion protein (full-length NiV-F). Upon administration, the vaccine induces a protective immune response, including neutralizing antibodies, against the Nipah virus. It is currently in preclinical development.
