Overview

NiT-1 is a preclinical-stage small molecule therapeutic being developed by Neuronity Therapeutics for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopathies. The drug is designed to reprogram microglia, the resident immune cells of the central nervous system (CNS), to restore their homeostatic and phagocytic functions. By enhancing the ability of microglia to clear pathological alpha-synuclein aggregates, NiT-1 aims to reduce neuroinflammation and halt the progression of neurodegeneration. This approach represents a novel strategy in neurodegenerative disease management by targeting the underlying immune dysfunction that contributes to toxic protein accumulation.
