Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Niuhuang pediatric antipyretic patch is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical formulation developed by Wuhan Jianmin Traditional Chinese Medicine Engineering Co., Ltd. It is specifically designed for the treatment of fever in children aged 1 to 5 years, particularly those suffering from acute upper respiratory infections characterized by the TCM "wind-heat" pattern. The patch contains Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis) as a primary active ingredient, which is traditionally used for its heat-clearing and detoxifying properties. The product is applied topically to provide an immediate antipyretic effect through transdermal absorption of its herbal constituents. It has been evaluated in Phase 3 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials in China to assess its efficacy and safety in pediatric populations.
