Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Niushi Wenjing decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Taizhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The formula is based on the TCM theoretical principle that "all cold are derived from kidney," and it is designed to warm the meridians and tonify the kidney to alleviate joint pain and stiffness. As a decoction, it is typically prepared by boiling a specific combination of herbs in water for oral administration. It is currently being investigated in clinical trials to evaluate its therapeutic efficacy and to elucidate the underlying biological mechanisms by which it modulates the progression of knee osteoarthritis.
