Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NiVLP is a trivalent enveloped virus-like particle (eVLP) vaccine candidate developed by Sferogen for the prevention of Nipah virus infection. The vaccine utilizes Sferogen's proprietary eVLP platform to present multiple Nipah virus antigens in a structure that mimics the native virus but lacks the genetic material required for replication. By displaying these antigens in a highly organized, multivalent format, NiVLP is designed to induce potent neutralizing antibody and cellular immune responses. It is currently in preclinical development as part of Sferogen's pandemic preparedness pipeline, aimed at addressing the high mortality rate and outbreak potential of the Nipah virus.
