Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NK101 (allogeneic super-charged natural killer cells) is an off-the-shelf, non-engineered cellular immunotherapy being developed by NKore BioTherapeutics, based on technology originated by Dr. Anahid Jewett at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The therapy consists of healthy donor-derived (allogeneic) natural killer (NK) cells that are expanded and activated ('supercharged') in vitro using a proprietary co-culture method involving osteoclasts and a probiotic formulation (sAJ2). This process enhances the cytotoxicity, persistence, and cytokine secretion (such as IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha) of the NK cells, enabling them to effectively target and eliminate cancer stem cells (CSCs) and poorly differentiated tumor cells within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. NK101 is being evaluated for the treatment of various solid tumors and hematological malignancies, including glioblastoma, pancreatic cancer, melanoma, oral cancer, and colorectal cancer.
