Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NK105 is a novel formulation of paclitaxel, designed as a "core-shell-type" polymeric micellar nanoparticle. It incorporates paclitaxel (PTX) within block copolymers composed of polyethylene glycol and polyamino acid, enabling improved drug delivery characteristics compared to conventional paclitaxel formulations. The micellar structure enhances the plasma and tumor exposure of paclitaxel while reducing neurotoxicity and hypersensitivity reactions associated with traditional solvent-based PTX. NK105 has demonstrated similar efficacy to standard PTX in advanced or recurrent breast cancer, with a better profile for peripheral sensory neuropathy. It is administered intravenously without the need for antiallergic premedication[3][5][6].
