Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NkBiome is a microbiome-based probiotic therapy developed by Naked Biome for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea. The therapy involves the topical application of beneficial microbial strains to modulate the skin's microbiome, specifically targeting and reducing pathogenic bacteria implicated in disease pathogenesis. For acne, the therapy aims to displace virulent strains of *Cutibacterium acnes* with health-associated strains. The development is guided by sequencing-derived microbial signatures to restore a healthy skin ecosystem. The lead program for acne has completed a Phase 1b clinical trial, demonstrating safety and early trends in efficacy.
