Overview

NKF-INS Glargine is a long-acting insulin analog biosimilar being developed by Xentria in partnership with Meitheal. It is designed as a biosimilar to Sanofi's Lantus (insulin glargine). The drug acts as an agonist of the insulin receptor, mimicking the action of endogenous insulin to regulate glucose metabolism and maintain glycemic control. It is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development, with studies utilizing the euglycemic clamp technique to demonstrate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic similarity to both US-licensed and EU-approved versions of the reference product. The drug is intended for the treatment of diabetes mellitus within the endocrinology therapeutic area.
