Overview
NKF-PEG is a biosimilar candidate of **pegfilgrastim** (Neulasta), a PEGylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). Developed by **Nanjing King-Friend Biochemical Pharmaceutical**, it is designed to stimulate the production of neutrophils in patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia. The drug consists of filgrastim conjugated to a polyethylene glycol (PEG) molecule, which extends the protein's half-life by reducing renal clearance and protecting it from proteolytic degradation. NKF-PEG acts by binding to the G-CSF receptor on hematopoietic cells, promoting the proliferation, differentiation, and activation of neutrophils.
