Overview

NKG2D CAR-NK is a gene-modified cell therapy being developed by Hangzhou Cheetah Cell Therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors, including platinum-resistant recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, and liver metastases. The therapy involves Natural Killer (NK) cells genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that targets ligands of the NKG2D receptor (such as MICA, MICB, and ULBPs), which are commonly upregulated on the surface of various cancer cells. By targeting these ligands, the CAR-NK cells can specifically recognize and eliminate tumor cells while potentially minimizing off-target effects on healthy tissues. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials, administered via intravenous infusion or hepatic artery transfusion.
