Overview
NL-CVX1 is a de novo engineered recombinant protein that acts as a human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) decoy. It is designed to bind the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein with high affinity, thereby blocking viral entry into host cells and preventing infection. Developed by Neoleukin Therapeutics, NL-CVX1 has demonstrated potent prophylactic and therapeutic activity in preclinical models against multiple variants of SARS-CoV-2, including Delta and Omicron. The drug is administered intranasally and aims to provide both prevention and treatment for COVID-19 by neutralizing the virus before it can infect respiratory epithelial cells[1][4][5].
