Overview

NLGN4X siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to knock down the expression of neuroligin 4X (NLGN4X), a neural cell adhesion molecule. In preclinical breast cancer models, particularly triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), NLGN4X is highly expressed and associated with a mesenchymal phenotype and decreased relapse-free survival. Transfection of breast cancer cells (such as MDA-MB-231) with NLGN4X siRNA significantly decreases cell proliferation and migration while inducing apoptosis, as evidenced by elevated caspase 3/7 and cleaved PARP. This suggests NLGN4X siRNA serves as a valuable research tool to investigate NLGN4X as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker in breast cancer progression and metastasis.
