Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NLS-11 (benedin) is a novel small molecule drug in preclinical development by NLS Pharmaceutics for the treatment of Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS), an ultra-rare sleep disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of hypersomnia and behavioral changes. The compound is described as a circadian rhythm modulator, with preclinical studies demonstrating benefit on hypersomnia symptoms and exhaustion associated with KLS in animal models. There are currently no approved treatments for KLS worldwide. Patent filings suggest potential applications in other rare sleep disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Lewy body dementia[4][5][6].
