Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NM-001 is a small molecule therapeutic candidate being developed by NuMedii for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). The drug was identified using NuMedii's proprietary Artificial Intelligence for Drug Discovery (AIDD) platform, which discovers new therapeutic uses for existing drugs by matching drug-induced gene expression profiles with disease-specific transcriptomic signatures. NM-001 is a repurposed asset that was found to potentially reverse the biological signature of ulcerative colitis. To optimize its therapeutic potential, NuMedii partnered with an undisclosed drug delivery company (often identified in industry reports as having expertise in gastrointestinal delivery, such as Adare Pharmaceuticals or Aptalis) to utilize specialized delivery technology. This technology is designed to ensure the efficient and targeted release of the drug within the gastrointestinal tract, thereby maximizing local efficacy in the colon while minimizing systemic side effects.
