Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nm-nOMV vaccine displaying SARS-CoV-2 Spike (also known as Avacc 10) is an intranasal subunit vaccine candidate developed by AdJane Biosciences in collaboration with Intravacc. The vaccine utilizes genetically detoxified native outer membrane vesicles (nOMVs) derived from *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroup B as an immunostimulatory platform and adjuvant, which are non-covalently linked to or display a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein. Designed primarily as a mucosal booster, the vaccine aims to induce both systemic IgG and local mucosal IgA immune responses at the respiratory tract entry points to prevent infection and reduce viral transmission. It has been evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial where it demonstrated a favorable safety and tolerability profile and successfully induced mucosal immunogenicity.
