Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NM09 is an orally administered monoclonal antibody fragment targeting tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), specifically developed for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Originally developed by Numab Therapeutics in collaboration with Tillotts Pharma, the program was spun out in 2023 into a newly formed company, Mage Biologics, to continue its clinical development. The drug utilizes Tillotts' sustained-release technology to deliver the antibody fragment directly to targeted regions of the intestinal tract. This localized delivery approach aims to provide potent anti-inflammatory effects at the site of disease while minimizing systemic exposure and the associated side effects typically seen with injectable TNF inhibitors.
