NM26

NM26 is a first-in-class investigational bispecific antibody designed to treat atopic dermatitis (AD) by simultaneously targeting two clinically validated pathways involved in the disease. It binds to the interleukin-4 receptor alpha subunit (IL-4Rα), which mediates Th2-driven skin inflammation, and interleukin-31 (IL-31), which is implicated in skin itch and scratching that exacerbate AD symptoms. By blocking both IL-4Rα and IL-31 pathways, NM26 aims to provide improved efficacy over existing therapies that typically target only IL-4/IL-13 signaling. The drug was developed using Numab Therapeutics’ MATCH technology platform for multi-specific antibodies and is currently entering Phase II clinical trials for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. Johnson & Johnson acquired global rights to NM26 through its acquisition of Yellow Jersey Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Numab Therapeutics, with plans to develop it further for AD and potentially other inflammatory skin diseases involving Th2 inflammation and itch.
