Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NMRA-NLRP3 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome (NACHT, LRR and PYD domains-containing protein 3). It is being developed by Neumora Therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, with a primary focus on Parkinson’s disease. The drug aims to inhibit chronic activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, which plays a key role in neuroinflammation associated with Parkinson’s and potentially other neurodegenerative or inflammatory conditions. By blocking this pathway, NMRA-NLRP3 may reduce inflammation and protect brain cells from degeneration. The program is currently in preclinical development, supported by funding from organizations such as Parkinson’s UK[1][2][4][5][7].
