NMX1

NMX1 is a novel, orally available small molecule drug developed by NovoMedix for oncology and cardio-oncology indications. It acts as a multi-pathway modulator with a unique mechanism of action that includes inhibition of mTOR signaling, secretion of interleukin-11 (IL-11), expression of CXCR4, and STAT3 activity. Additionally, NMX1 activates AMPK to protect the heart from cardiotoxicity, inflammation, and fibrosis. The drug is being advanced primarily for the treatment of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), aiming to maintain or enhance anthracycline efficacy while reducing long-term cardiac side effects. NMX1 is also under evaluation for rare pediatric cancers such as rhabdomyosarcoma, osteosarcoma, and neuroblastoma. As of early 2025, it remains in preclinical development.[1][2][3][4]
