NN-102 is a preclinical-stage nanobody (single-domain antibody) developed by NanoNewron as part of its NewroBus platform. It is designed to target Transferrin Receptor 1 (TfR1), a protein highly expressed on the brain capillary endothelial cells that form the blood–brain barrier (BBB). By binding to TfR1, NN-102 acts as a molecular shuttle, facilitating the transport of therapeutic payloads—such as other antibodies, enzymes, or small molecules—into the central nervous system (CNS) via receptor-mediated transcytosis. This platform aims to overcome the challenge of delivering large-molecule therapeutics to the brain for the treatment of various neurological disorders.
