Overview

NN9433 is a long-acting, dual agonist of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptors, currently under development by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. By targeting both receptors, NN9433 aims to provide superior glycemic control and weight loss compared to selective GLP-1 receptor agonists. The GIP component enhances insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner and may improve lipid metabolism, while the GLP-1 component suppresses glucagon secretion, slows gastric emptying, and promotes satiety. NN9433 is being evaluated in both subcutaneous and oral formulations, leveraging Novo Nordisk's expertise in peptide engineering and oral delivery technologies.
