Overview

NNC0268-0965 is an acylated insulin analogue developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. It acts as an agonist of the insulin receptor (INSR), mimicking endogenous human insulin to regulate blood glucose levels. The drug also stimulates ornithine decarboxylase and various protein kinases/phosphokinases. Clinical development included phase I trials comparing its efficacy and safety to insulin glargine in both healthy volunteers and patients with diabetes. As of mid-2024, development for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes has been discontinued[4][3][2][5].
