Overview

NNC0471-0119 is a novel, rapid-acting insulin analogue developed for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus. It is designed to be administered via continuous subcutaneous infusion using an insulin pump. The drug acts as an agonist of the insulin receptor, mimicking endogenous human insulin to lower blood glucose levels by promoting cellular uptake of glucose and inhibiting hepatic glucose production. Clinical studies are evaluating its pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, safety, and efficacy compared to existing rapid-acting insulins such as insulin aspart (Fiasp). Multiple formulations have been tested in early-phase clinical trials[1][3][4][5].
