NNC0560-0004 is an orally administered small molecule drug in development by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of severe forms of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH, also known as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis or MASH). The compound acts as a selective inhibitor of semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase/vascular adhesion protein-1 (SSAO/VAP-1), targeting inflammation and oxidative stress in endothelial cells. It is currently being evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
