Overview

NNC0581-0001 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug candidate developed by Novo Nordisk. It is designed to target mitochondrial amidoxime reducing component 1 (MARC1/MTARC1) via RNA interference, with the aim of reducing the severity of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and protecting against progression to cirrhosis. The compound is being investigated primarily for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), also known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and hepatic steatosis. Clinical studies have focused on evaluating its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in both healthy volunteers and patients with increased liver fat or suspected inflammation[2][3][4][5].
