Overview

NNC0638-0355 is a once-weekly subcutaneous synthetic peptide and amylin analogue developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of obesity and overweight. It acts as an agonist of the amylin receptor (AMYR), aiming to mimic or enhance the physiological effects of endogenous amylin, which plays a role in regulating appetite and food intake. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and potential efficacy in people with overweight or obesity. As of October 2024, it has not been approved for prescription use[1][2][3][4][7].
