Overview

NNC16790001 (also known as NNC1679-0001) is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic being developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug is designed to selectively silence a specific, undisclosed target gene involved in metabolic regulation using RNA interference (RNAi) technology, which was acquired through Novo Nordisk's acquisition of Dicerna Pharmaceuticals and its GalXC platform. NNC16790001 is administered subcutaneously and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in healthy participants and individuals with type 2 diabetes.
